This cultural space in Santiago de Alcántara attempts to respond to the questions that surround these thousand-year-old burial structures, which shape this unusual interpretation centre.
Located on the outskirts of the town of Santiago de Alcántara in Cáceres, the dolmen culture interpretation centre was built to spread and interpret the prehistoric heritage at one of the most important and diverse Megalithic sites in Europe. Without a doubt, its most noticeable characteristic is that all of its facilities are underground and it looks a huge dolmen from the outside. You can enter it through a long passageway that simulates the entrance to a burial mound and will take you to a room full of recreations, models, boards and videos explaining why the dolmens were built, how they were put up, what places were chosen for them and why the rocks were painted and engraved.
