This large Roman residence of incalculable cultural value has survived from the 3rd and 4th centuries AD to our times.
In Jerez de los Caballeros, erected on a hillock, stands what is known as "El Pomar" villa, a Roman construction from the 3rd and 4th centuries AD with subsequent 5th-and-6th-century AD alterations. A central courtyard of monumental dimensions led to the different rooms around it. The building is made of masonry and ashlar blocks, although the mosaics in the interior are the most remarkable feature. The most important one is in the main room.
