Although it is difficult to determine when they ceased to be used, the Roman thermal baths found in the Puerto de la Nava archaeological site date back to the 1st century.
The Puerto de la Nava archaeological site is a remarkable thermal complex that forms part of a Roman villa dating back to between the 1st and 2nd centuries AD. It has three noteworthy spaces: the first one is a domestic space intended for use as workers' residences; the second one is an inhabited space around a central patio formed by a series of chambers structured in two successive rooms; and the third one is a large thermal bath building. The latter takes in the ferruginous water from a nearby spring.
